While many people are disgusted by the idea of paying $2 for a bottle of water, others are more than happy to pay it in order to feel “blingy.” Now one company has made water blingier than ever with its new line of bottles that contain Swarovski crystals.
Bling H2O is the brainchild of Hollywood writer-producer Kevin Boyd. While working on studio lots where image is everything, he saw that the bottle of water an actor or celebrity carried could say quite a bit about their personality. He decided to create a product that would make a defining statement. The result is a collection of bottled water called Bling H2O that is encrusted with Swarovski crystals and designed to appeal to the expanding super-luxury consumer market. The first bottles were introduced to hand-selected actors and athletes, who have enthusiastically endorsed the product.
The water itself is sourced from natural springs in Dandridge, Tennessee and undergoes a nine step filtration process to ensure its purity. It is available in a variety of designs, from the simple “Sparkling” to the more exotic “The Ten Thousand.”
While the blinginess of the water certainly adds to its allure, the price tag still makes many people squirm. At $40 a bottle, this isn’t exactly the kind of purchase that the average person can afford. The good news is that, as the name suggests, this water is reusable, so even if you aren’t rich enough to afford a bottle of Bling, you can still enjoy the sparkling experience with a glass of regular ol’ tap water.
