Bling out your nails isn’t just for the holidays. A manicure with gems, jewels and rhinestones is a great way to spice up your everyday style. Adding nail gems and other accessories to your polish is easy, quick and doesn’t require much artistic skill, says veteran nail artist Gina Silvestro. Plus, it’s a “hard-to-ignore add-on,” she says.
A clear base coat catches the light and lets the stones shine. You can also choose a light pink shade for this look. Then add a row of gems in various colors running across the nail to make it stand out.
If you want to do something bold, try this red bling nail art design with an iridescent basecoat and rhinestones in different hues. It’s a surefire way to turn heads!
Purple nails with a mix of large and small gemstones are another classic choice for a bling manicure. You can even use a light or dark purple for your nails and add different sizes of gems.
Yellow rhinestones are a cheerful addition to short, stiletto nails. The gems give a burst of color and help bring out the beauty of the natural nail.
A clear or pale pink base coat makes a stylish canvas for bling. This look pairs well with any outfit and is great for a summer or spring occasion. Try this look with a glitter topcoat for extra sparkle. Remember to always apply a topcoat around the nails but never directly on top of the stones, as this will dull their sparkle and make them less shiny.
