Sixteen months after the docu-soap’s debut, Netflix is back with season 2 of bling empire. The reality series follows a group of uber-wealthy East Asian and Asian American entrepreneurs and heirs in Los Angeles, who live and spend with immaculate taste. This season promises more champagne, sports cars and drama, with a couple of new cast members as well.
While many of the show’s returning stars will be a part of this season, international TV personality Dorothy Wang and Rich Kids of Beverly Hills alum Mimi Morris will make their debuts as full-time cast members. Dorothy, who inherited her billionaire father’s wealth, and Mimi, an influential social media personality and founder of the match-making app Be More Matcha, will be bringing their own brand of glamour to the season.
The trailer already teases some drama, including a possible feud between Kane and Dorothy. During the premiere episode, Kane slammed Dorothy, saying that she only talks about other people and creates drama. Dorothy shaded Kane back, telling him that he’s been trying to have lunch with her since 2011, but she’d rather “fast for 87 days straight.”
The season also sees bumps in Kevin and Kim’s budding romance as well as ongoing rivalry between Anna Shay and Christine Chiu. Cherie Chan and her now-husband Jessey Lee will tie the knot, but the gang’s already speculating that the nuptials won’t be a smooth ride. The second season of bling empire will release on May 13, with eight 40-minute episodes. Lenid Rolov, Ross Weintraub and Elise Chung serve as exec producers.
