Kelly Mi Li’s on-again, off-again relationship with her Bling Dynasty co-star Andrew Gray has been a major source of drama for the show since its first season. Whether it was him getting arrested on suspicion of money laundering, a scandalous penis pump storyline or him getting caught cheating on her, Kelly’s been the brunt of plenty of backlash over her relationship with Andrew.
But that’s not even the half of it. Many viewers have labeled their relationship toxic, calling out Andrew’s controlling, manipulative and gaslighting behavior. The two are always fighting over something, and their fights include gaslighting, blaming the other person for their actions, tearful guilt-tripping and every other trick in the book.
The toxicity between the pair began right away in season 1. In episode one, Andrew surprised Kelly with a private jet to Paris and then screamed at her over the phone for leaving him alone in their hotel room to go shopping with Anna. He called her a “whore” and said she wasn’t “sexy enough for him.”
The fight was just the tip of the iceberg, as Andrew went on to isolate Kelly from their friends, make her cry on camera and do all kinds of things that were psychologically abusive. It wasn’t long before viewers were calling out the pair and urging them to get help. Thankfully, they ended up breaking up at one point during the season but seemed to reconcile by the end of the season. But then, in a “Where Are They Now?” video released by Netflix in January 2021, they revealed that they had taken a six-month break and that they’d been working on their issues in therapy.
