Review of Bling Dynasty on Netflix

If you loved Crazy Rich Asians and are looking for even more mind-blowing wealth to marvel at then Netflix’s Bling Dynasty might be just for you. This reality series follows a group of, yes you guessed it, super wealthy Asian-American socialites living in Los Angeles. The show zigzags between depictions of mind-boggling riches and much more relatable moments. Think one heiress shutting down Rodeo Drive for her Chinese New Year party or the epic fallout over who wore a Louis Vuitton haute-joaillerie necklace first.

The show also offers a glimpse into not only the opulent lives of these friends but their culture and traditions as well. They celebrate their heritage through opulent parties, lavish shopping sprees, and even visits to family members abroad. The cast of the show varies from self-made millionaires to heiresses with ties to Chinese royalty. They are all incredibly beautiful, but that isn’t the only thing they have going for them. They also go through the same struggles most people go through – like relationship drama and petty squabbling.

The show is a breath of fresh air in a reality television space that is criticized for its lack of diversity. The cast of the show is incredibly well-rounded and the episodes are entertaining and engaging. The show isn’t without its faults though – like many other reality shows there is a lot of petty sniping and over-the-top displays of wealth. But overall it is a great watch and we definitely recommend it.
